Our community has spoken; Cecilia Baliga has been awarded title of Capital Women’s Care’s Cutest Baby. Cecilia is the daughter of Frankie and Chealsy Baliga, who will enjoy a night out on the town, sponsored by 28 South and Leitersburg Cinemas.

Chealsy was admitted to Meritus Medical Center on Thursday, April 14^th at 36 weeks due to complications.  Her due date wasn’t for another 4 weeks, but Cecilia had other plans.  When she was admitted to the hospital, she was already 3.5 cm dilated and 80% effaced and continued to progress.  On Friday, April 15, 2016, Dr. Nadim Hawa decided it was best to jumpstart her journey by inducing labor. By 8 o’clock with Andrea Groag, Certified Midwife by their side, it was “baby time”!  Cecilia was born at 9:05 p.m. on Friday, April 15^th, weighing in at 6lbs. 3oz., and 19.5in. long.  Even though she was born 4 weeks early, healthy Cecilia was able to breathe and feed on her own; avoiding the NICU.
