CWC…Practicing what they Preach
During business hours, Jesse Brown is a Medical Assistant to Dr. Andy Oh at Capital Women’s Care. The two work together to provide medical service to women at all stages of pregnancy.
Jesse is training for the 2014 Color Splash, which is a family-friendly 5K event that is geared toward all fitness levels. Participants are “splashed” with an array of powdered color throughout the course.
Jesse is using the “Couch-to-5k” training program. Three days a week, she walks/runs for 30 minutes. She uses a special app on her smartphone that tells her when to walk and when to run. Each week, she runs more and walks less. Eventually, she will be able to run the entire 5k.
Jesse says “C25K” has been very easy to integrate into her busy schedule.
Jesse is a baseball mom and enjoys swimming and family events. She has encouraged her husband, sister in-law, and brother in-law to also use the C25K to train for Color Splash.
In addition to completing the Color Splash, her goal is to live a healthier lifestyle and lose weight.
Prior to using C25K, Jesse says that she would be sitting on the couch eating. She admits to feeling more energized and being able to sleep better than she ever has. After completing Color Splash, she will train to run a 10k!
The entire staff, and especially Dr. Oh, are cheering her on every step of the way. Go Jesse!
